Our Story

We originally set up our small business to look after a few Alpacas and provide an escape for the community with something a little different…

We now have 12 Alpacas 6 boys & 6 girls, all registered with the British Alpaca Society… 3 Sheep and a hand full of chickens!

Our mission & aim is to provide the community with activities aimed to help mental health & wellbeing.

We run craft sessions for children, sessions for young adults & children with special needs, rehabilitation charities, foster children from Medway council and home education groups to name but a few; where the cost is kept to a minimum and put back into the farm to help with the upkeep of the animals, to enhance and develop the farm for these experiences.

Alpaca Trekking

Walking an Alpaca in itself is incredibly relaxing. The “alpaca pace” is soothing to the soul & while you’re walking you really do forget your troubles as the little bubble you’re in with your alpaca buddy, really is all you need right there & then.

Alpacas are also great candidates for Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) and can help in the treatment of patients with depression and anxiety, as well as victims of abuse and trauma.

It's well documented that being with animals is benefiting for mental health patients, it reduces blood pressure and helps alleviate feelings of stress and anxiety.

The Farm

The farm is in a gorgeous spot in Grain right on the coast, that needs to be shared, we are beyond proud that we can give so much back to the community we live in. Our Farm has proved popular with everyone who has visited. We have weekly yoga sessions, sound baths, craft and wellbeing workshops and plenty more booked in.

What people say…

This is a 5 star farm. I have visited with my son twice and we will definitely be visiting again regularly. It is a place my son feels safe to explore and interact with the animals in beautiful surroundings without him being overwhelmed by lots of people. My son has autism and it is very difficult finding places that he feels comfortable and he asks regularly when we're going back.

We have found our little piece of heaven and it is a great addition to the peninsula and local community. We can't wait to go back.

The farm has provided a much needed community space and place of peace and tranquillity. I am sure the locals love being able to visit and attend events there, as well as there being so much for children to do where they can be creative and in nature. And I am also aware it is bringing in visitors from further afield, which is great for Grain.

It is clear how much the owners and those who work there genuinely care about the farm, the animals and the visitors. I would highly recommend the farm to anyone. I look forward to seeing their continued growth and the amazing things the future brings for them and can’t wait to visit again soon.

With love

I was introduced to the Crafty Alpacas farm through one of my yoga student. From my first visit I noticed how well organised and entertaining the place was. Mishy and Iveta are constantly going out of their way to accommodate their guests. I have been teaching yoga there as well as doing sounds bath for a few weeks now and I have encouraged some of my friends from the well-being industry to offer their services from there. As a teacher of yoga, meditation, mindfulness, gong practitioner and neuro rehab assistant for Gravesham community hospital, I highly recommend the farm. It a lovely sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, skilfully managed by passionate, altruistic, caring souls.
